Hall of FameThe University of Kentucky Public Health Hall of Fame is located on the first floor of the College of Public Health. It is purposed to recognize Kentuckians making a significant contribution to the public health of the population of the Common wealth of Kentucky, the United States, and/or the world. It also functions to raise funds to benefit students in the College of Public Health in the form of loans and scholarships and to increase visibility of the College of Public Health. Usually, three to six active health care professionals are selected for Hall of Fame recognition annually. The Hall of Fame awards take place at the annual Fall Symposium. Hall of Fame Awardees are invited to attend the dinner and be recognized. Recipients receive an engraved crystal award, and their photograph and a biographical sketch identifying the individual’s contribution to health care will be displayed on the Hall of Fame wall in the College of Public Health. An annual press release identifying recipients and describing the role of the College of Public Health is issued and circulated through out the Commonwealth and to national organizations. Professional Associations are encouraged to purchase tables and make separate contributions linked to UK Fellowships in the College of Public Health. Proceeds are applied to benefit College of Public Health students. Financial sponsorship of the Kentucky Public Health Hall of Fame comes from Kentucky health care professional associations and foundations.
